Horizons

Our shared home is on fire. Global warming is no longer a distant trend — it is an accelerating reality that we must confront, compounded by the weight of denialism. In the year Brazil hosts COP 30, Festival FotoDoc set out to address the urgency of actions capable of helping to expand and clarify our horizons, both political and social.

Photography can bear witness and also point toward new paths. By capturing and exposing reality, it can contribute to transforming it. It can also serve as a vehicle for disseminating constructive and transformative practices.

In its fourth edition, Festival FotoDoc 2025 took place from November 4 to 8 at the Panamericana School of Art and Design, in São Paulo, Brazil, with exhibitions on view until January 10, 2026. This year, the exhibition featuring the winners of the FotoDoc Photo Contest expanded to 25 works.

In addition to other exhibitions, Festival FotoDoc presented FotoDoc Encounters, a Bookshop with Author Talks, and Artescambo, activities dedicated to projection and exchange. The program also included Workshops and Portfolio Reviews, aimed at the education and professional development of photographers.
