The FotoDoc Festival is based in São Paulo, Brazil’s largest metropolis and economic center. From this vantage point, we aim to explore the dynamics between center and periphery through the works of esteemed guest photographers, seeking to highlight connections, build bridges, and foster dialogue.
Originating from economic and geographical concepts, “center” and “periphery” are not merely opposites but also complement each other. How can we reduce this inequality, blur these boundaries, and construct a world where center and periphery are not in opposition but in harmony? These questions were addressed through discussions, exhibitions, and book launches during the festival.
A significant highlight of the 2023 edition was the FotoDoc Photo Contest first edition, resulting in an exhibition featuring 17 winners, bringing emerging talents into conversation with renowned photographers invited by the festival. We also remain committed to nurturing new photographers through Workshops and Portfolio Reviews.
From November 21 to 25, with Exhibitions open until January 15, 2024, the FotoDoc Festival 2023 brought together photographers and photography enthusiasts at the Panamericana School of Art and Design.
