Read moreDetailsLorenzo Gonnelli (1994, province of Grosseto) is a photographer, director and screenwriter. After graduating with honors in Visual Communication from the IED in Milan, he started working as a director of video clips for the record label Cave Canem, with selections in international festivals such as the Toronto International Music Video Festival and the Wasteland Film Festival.
In 2017, he worked as an editor for the audiovisual installation “SHEEP-SHEEP” by Antonio D'Addio, presented at the Venice Art Biennale.
Parallel to his filmmaking activity, he has developed a strong interest in photography, exploring the relationship between body, space and visual memory. His photographic language is distinguished by deep aesthetic research, often characterized by suspended atmospheres and an evocative use of light.
In 2024 he presented the project “Steel” within FOCO - Exposing Contemporary Photography at Ma.Co.f Centro della Fotografia Italiana in Brescia and at the MArteLive Biennial in Rome, consolidating his path in the contemporary photographic scene. His works have been selected for international exhibitions in prestigious spaces, including the CICA Museum in South Korea and Loosen Art - Found and Discovered in Rome.
In 2023, the screenplay for the short film “Chains” was selected for major film programs and festivals, including ShorTS Development & Pitching Training, the Figari Film Festival and the Omladinski Film Festival in Sarajevo, also winning the Sentiero Film Lab award.
In 2025 he received an Honorable Mention at the Annual Photography Awards 2024 in the Fine Art: Places & Spaces category. His work has also been selected by LensCulture for the Emerging Talent Awards 2024 and for Lenscratch - Your Favorite Photo 2024.
His visual work is developed in a balance between photography and film, two languages that are intertwined in his artistic research.
