I had these dreams of seeing the world, then I went to Bahia. And now, Bahia has become a part of me. Since 2011, I’ve returned again and again, drawn by its light, its rhythms, and the generosity of the families who have welcomed me into their lives. Through their trust and openness, I’ve been able to make these photographs. My work is a reflection of Bahia’s spirit—where the routines of daily life and ritual blur, where the past lingers in gestures and songs, and where resilience is woven into the everyday.
Fifteen years ago, I arrived in Bahia for a photography workshop, not knowing how much this place would shape me. What began as a way to reconnect with photography became something deeper: a lasting bond, a conversation that continues with each visit. Every visit feels like a homecoming, and every goodbye, a promise to return. Through layered, intimate images, I try to honor the people and places that have welcomed me—offering a glimpse into Bahia as I’ve come to know it.
