Towns by the sea may seem idyllic, but the truth is that they have always been a land of constant change and serious difficulties. What was once a diesel engine for the economy has become a burden that is difficult to shake off. In recent years, the number of people who come to spend the holidays has decreased and, as a consequence, the season has shortened.
When faced with any difficulty, shops, hotels or restaurants close and few reopen. Thus, the social fabric breaks down and what could be a prosperous town is heading towards an abyss that is leaving the place and its inhabitants exhausted. In the geometry of the waves I document a space that lives between decline and beauty. A story that encapsulates the struggle and daily life of a place that from the outside seems to have no solution. It is the tense pulse that sounds in the breaking of the waves of all coastal towns.
